Sharing Hope for the Holidays
I recently read an article featuring Michelle Obama, promoting her new book "Becoming." She was talking about her sense of optimism, particularly as it pertains to our country. She said,
"[Kids] are born into this world with a sense of hope and optimism. No matter where they're from. Or how tough their stories are. They think they can be anything because we tell them that. So we have a responsibility to be optimistic. And to operate in the world in that way."
It got me thinking about my own work with children - first as a camp counselor and then later working with Head Start teachers and parents. I've always loved that sense of optimism in children.
In that spirit, my gift to you this holiday season is sentiments of hope and cheer, brought to you by a few of my favorite neighborhood kids!
I hope this season you will find hope and optimism in everything you do - because our world needs more of that.
Wishing you and yours a very happy & healthy holiday season!
