Leaving a Legacy of Stories
Stories from long ago aren’t just a piece of
history. They give us a window into a completely different world than
the one we currently live in. One of my favorite stories that Hazel,
age 101, shares is when she was a teenager living in Washington, DC in
1921. She and a friend go swimming near the Washington monument and
afterwards decide to take a stroll over to the White House. I won’t
spoil the story but know that the amazing thing that happened next
would never happen in today’s world!
