When I was 14,
I remember
standing behind a VHS camcorder making a film about my
Grandmother, an immigrant from Russia who had amazing stories of
escape and survival to share. Though I had the best
intentions, from audio problems to a faulty videotape, the result
was no viewable video of my
Grandmother.
It has been
years since
this experience and years since her death, but I remember it so
clearly and think, what a shame!
After talking
with
countless others who either had a similar experience or simply
wished they could document their family, I decided to do
“right” by my Grandmother and use my talent and
skills to create for others what I was not able to do for my own
family.
